We are happy to announce our new Karate-do Club at WAT offer by Mr. Takeshi Sasagawa, a Karate Instructor from Japan with more than 40 years of teaching experience.
Mr. Sasagawa’s aim is to bring our WAT karate club to the European Karate Championship!
Karate-do is a Japanese sport that helps becoming physically and mentally strong and teaches good manners.
It is important to train the mind, but we believe it is important to train the body first. By training our bodies, we will gain confidence and become more motivated. In the process of training the body, the mind naturally becomes stronger.
Karate-do emphasizes civility and human development. Through training, karate-do constantly asks students how to be a human being and how to have a good heart, such as greeting others with a loud voice, respecting others, bowing and manners, and so on.
The ability to interact internationally through karate is a big attraction of this program; below are the expected outcomes and results:
- In a group of people separated by age, students look at their own existence and responsibilities while recognising, encouraging, and enhancing each other, and develop a rich sense of humanity and social skills. This enrichment will increase momentum and motivation and energise the entire company.
- To acquire specialised sports skills and knowledge, and to develop the ability and attitude to become familiar with sports throughout one's life, as well as to improve one's physical fitness and health.
- In addition to refreshing the body and mind, many voluntary and spontaneous activities with peers bring joy and a sense of fulfilment, making life richer and more fulfilling.
- Through the process of striving toward a common goal, it is an important opportunity for students to deepen their mutual trust and understanding of each other.
- Students are able to discover possibilities outside of their studies.
- Students can gain a sense of accomplishment and make effective use of their time.
- Students can make friends who are interested in the same things as they are
This club will be offered twice a week from 3:15 to 4:00PM. The cost is 70 EUR (per month).
