Mirlinda is Albanian and studied International Law, obtaining her BA and MA degrees from LSE London, UK. Before founding IMSA in 2007 and WAT in 2010, Linda held different positions in international organizations and worked as a Government advisor. She has completed relevant IB trainings and the School Management Course at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Our supportive and dedicated teaching and leadership team play a crucial role in the overall development and success of our students. Academic support helps students excel in their studies, while pastoral care ensures their well-being and emotional growth. Gladiola is Albanian and studied Hospitality Management in Austria and Business Administration in Tirana. She also holds a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning and has completed many IB workshops, as well as Child Safety Workshops. Gladiola joined WAT in 2011 and is a senior member of our team.
Alena Namotu
Whole school Academic Director
Alena is from Fiji and joined WAT in 2016. She completed her Bachelor of Secondary Education in History and Geography and holds a Graduate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of the South Pacific. Alena has been an IB educator for over 17 years and is an IBEN member, serving as a subject examiner for Diploma Programme History for many years, specialising in the Internal Assessment and Paper 1.
Shikha Ahuja
PYP Principal
Shikha is from India and joined WAT in 2016. She has a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in English (Hons) and Bachelor's in Education from a renowned university in India. Shikha is an IBEN member and works with the IB as a Workshop Leader and a School Visit Team Member, thus providing learning opportunities for teachers in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Peter Thompson
Secondary School Principal
Peter is from England and has been teaching at WAT since 2016. He studied English Literature at the University of Durham before completing a PGCE in English at the University of Bath. He has many years of teaching experience and has also spent many years as an IB teacher. Peter is an IBEN member as an examiner for DP English Language and Literature for many years now, specialising in the Individual Oral and Paper 1 assessments.
Marinela Gogo
Lower PYP Coordinator, PYP Teacher
Marinela is from Albania. She has joined WAT in 2011. Marinela has a Bachelor's degree in English Language and a Master's degree in Teaching from the University of Tirana. She has participated in many IB Workshops and trainings in child development and safety. After completing many trainings and gaining valuable experience, she took over the role of Early Years PYP Coordinator along with her teaching role in PYP.
Merijada Dusha
MYP Coordinator, Humanities Teacher
Merijada is from Albania and joined WAT in 2013. She graduated university as a History and Geography Teacher. Merijada is a senior member of our school and alongside teaching Humanities, she is our MYP coordinator at WAT. She has completed many IB workshops and well as child safety and other subject related workshops.
John Jaques
Dean of Students and Faculty
John is from the United States of America. He has been at WAT since 2017. His graduate degree is in International History from the London School of Economics and Political Science. John has many years of experience in training and education. His primary role at WAT is serving as the Dean of Students and Faculty.
Carmen Meyer
PYP Teacher
Carmen is from South Africa. She studied Journalism and has a Montessori Early Childhood Education Diploma. Carmen is very experienced in teaching the 3 – 6 year old age group in Montessori settings. She has taught for three years at our Montessori sister school, IMSA, and joined WAT in 2022 to start a new journey with IB. She has participated in many IB workshops, as well as child safety and development workshops.

Diana is from Ukraine. She graduated with a Master's degree in Languages and Literature from the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University and joined WAT in 2021. Diana has previously taught in Ukraine and China. In addition to numerous IB trainings, she is also CELTA certified.

Donika Dona
Albanian Teacher PYP
Donika is from Albania. She graduated from the University of Shkodra with a degree in Albanian Language and Literature. She joined the WAT team as an Albanian teacher in 2023. Donika has extensive experience in teaching Albanian and English as a second language. She is highly skilled and has completed many training courses in child development, teaching and learning languages.
Igli Nako

Igli is from Albania. He has a Bachelor's degree in Composition and Music Theory from the Fine Arts Academy of Tirana. Igli joined WAT in 2012, holds several IB PYP Certificates and is a senior member of our team. Together with the art colleagues, they organise lots of wonderful musicals with our Primary students.

Evelina is from Albania and joined WAT in 2011. She has a Bachelor's degree in English language and a Master's degree in teaching English. Evelina has been with WAT since its opening and throughout the years she has gained valuable teaching experiences and has participated in many IB trainings and trainings in child development and safety.

Timothy is from the United States and joined WAT in 2021. He has a Master's degree in Childhood Education from the City College of New York and holds a professional teaching license from New York, USA. Timothy has many years' international teaching experience, having taught in different countries around the world.

Ani is from Albania and joined WAT in 2022. He has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sports' Faculty of Physical Activity and Recreation in Tirana and a Professional Master's as a Fitness Trainer, as well as a Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports from Marin Berleti University, Faculty of Social Science, Tourism and Sports.
Anjeza Shatku
Albanian Teacher
Anjeza is from Albania and has been with WAT since 2015. She has a Master's degree in Albanian Language and Literature from the University of Tirana, and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Sciences from the University of Genoa, Italy. Anjeza lived and worked in Italy for many years before coming to Albania. She has attended many IB workshops and has gained a lot of experience in teaching. Anjeza also teaches Italian language at WAT.
