Alena is from Fiji and joined WAT in 2016. She completed her Bachelor of Secondary Education in History and Geography and holds a Graduate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of the South Pacific. Alena has been an IB educator for over 17 years and has taught and led Middle Years Programme teams in international schools across Fiji, Malaysia, and Africa. During the past 17 years as an educator, she has been an MYP and DP Humanities teacher and has also held a variety of leadership positions, including MYP Personal Project Coordinator, MYP Curriculum Coordinator, DP Curriculum Coordinator, and Secondary Principal. Alena is also an IBEN member, serving as a subject examiner for Diploma Programme History for 13 years now, specializing in the Internal Assessment and Paper 1.

Alena considers herself to be an open-minded, lifelong learner with a mission to enable teachers to be the best they can be and to have a positive influence on the educational experiences of their students. In addition to her passion for teaching and learning concepts, she takes pleasure in travelling, reading, watching movies, cooking, and learning about different cuisines.

Armelle is from the South of France and joined WAT in 2010. She studied Languages, Translation & International Relations at the Ecole Supérieure de Traduction & Relations Internationales (ESTT) of the Catholic University of Lyon. Following her university studies and vocational training, she worked for several years in higher education (teaching & administration) and in business in Spain, the USA and the UK before moving to Albania in 2009. Armelle is multilingual, speaking French, English, Spanish, Albanian, Tunisian Arabic and Italian.  She has taught at WAT throughout all IB programmes, from PYP, to MYP and DP. Currently, Armelle is the DP French Language B teacher, Head of the Language Acquisition Department and University and Career Counsellor, as well as the DP Coordinator.

Armelle is very passionate about teaching and inspiring kids to be proactive and do their best in order to be well equipped when jumping into a rapidly changing world. It is always a true pleasure when she sees her students grow into responsible, successful and global-minded young adults.

Merijada is from Albania and joined WAT in 2013. She graduated university as a History and Geography Teacher and has been working in education for more than 20 years. Merijada is a senior member of our school and alongside teaching Humanities, she is our MYP coordinator at WAT and teaches Individuals and Societies and Albanian History too. She also been the Service as Action Coordinator for 2 years and CAS Coordinator here at WAT. Merijada has completed many IB workshops and well as child safety and other subject related workshops.

John is from the United States of America and has been at WAT since 2017. His undergraduate degree from Iowa State University is a triple major in Political Science, History, and International Studies, while his graduate degree is in International History from the London School of Economics and Political Science. John has over 23 years of experience in training and education. His primary role at WAT is serving as the Dean of Students and Faculty but he also teaches DP History with an emphasis on European history in the 20th century. In addition, he is also an Extended Essay supervisor and previously a Theory of Knowledge teacher.

Albana is from Albania, has more than 13 years' experience in education, and joined WAT in 2018. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Language and Literature and a Postgraduate Master of Science degree in Teaching Albanian Language and Literature from the University of Tirana. She also has a State License in Teaching and is an IB certified DP and MYP teacher. Albana has worked in different programs including the Albanian National Curriculum, Cambridge Program, and it is her 5th year as an International Baccalaureate (IB) educator in an IB world school here in Tirana. She teaches Language A and Albanian Literature A in DP and Language and Literature for MYP students. She is passionate about being a teacher, because her vision is to educate students who will be citizens of the world and will make a better future for our society. She has attended a range of IB workshops and trainings in Education. She began her career in education as a Specialist in Curriculum Development in Tirana’s Educational Directorate, followed by positions including SAA Coordinator, DP Site-based Coordinator Pamoja, Didactic Director, Project Development Specialist in Training and Education, Curriculum Specialist, MYP teacher and DP teacher. Her successes in education both in Albania and in Germany led her to develop educational projects, and she is an Accreditation Specialist in Implementing and Integrating International Curriculums into Albanian Curriculum and Start-ups of schools here in Albania. Albana's hobbies include theatre, art, and fashion.

Originally from Albania, Alfred graduated from METU (Middle East Technical University) in Turkey. His career as a teacher started in 2012 and he has worked at various international schools in Albania and has completed a number of professional development courses and trainings. As a teacher, Alfred encourages critical thinking and problem-solving, and his aim is to provide a a broad range of learning opportunities to cater to different learning styles. Alfred teach Science in MYP and Physics in DP here at WAT. He is married to Albanian too, Elena and they have a son aged 9 years old.

Anxhela is from Albania and graduated from the University of Tirana with a Bachelor's degree in Language, Literature and French Civilization, and an MSc in French Language Teaching to Secondary and Higher Education. She joined WAT in 2014 and has over 8 years experience teaching French Language and Acquisition at WAT in both PYP and MYP. During her studies, Anxhela worked for 4 years in a French foundation teaching children in need. In addition to her background in French, she also has an A2 Degree in German language. She truly believes language can be a portal to understanding culture at a deeper level. Her teaching philosophy is very simple, students do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care. Anxhela shows care by forming relationships with her students and supporting them in finding their dreams and strengths so they can believe in themselves the way she believes in them.

Aurora is Albanian and joined WAT in 2014. She studied Albanian Language & Literature at the University of Tirana. Aurora is an IB trained teacher for both MYP and DP programs and is our TOK & Self-Taught Coordinator, teaching Albanian A in MYP and DP, as well as Theory of Knowledge. Throughout her 17 years of experience, she has explored different areas of Albanian Language by working as an Albanian A teacher and book Editor. She has enjoyed working as a Youth Specialist of the Canadian program for foster care kids, TIF. Aurora enjoys the opportunity to see our students take their mother tongue as a Self-Taught subject.

Ben is from England. He joined WAT in 2022, teaching MYP Design. Ben has taught in IB schools for over 6 years and previously taught MYP Music in Vietnam, PYP ELL in Thailand and Design in Italy. He also worked in primary schools in England for several years, providing outreach support to students with varying social and emotional needs. Benjamin has a Bachelor's degree in Music Technology and studied at the University of Hull. He has a teaching certification through Moreland University. He has a huge passion for music and the arts in general and hopes to instil this passion in his students too.

Elissa is from the United States and joined WAT in 2018. She studied Classics (Latin and ancient Greek language, literature, and culture) and Art History at Kalamazoo College, Michigan, USA, and is IB certified to teach both MYP and DP Language and Literature. At WAT, alongside her teaching role, she leads our Language and Literature Department, helps to implement the Middle Years Programme at WAT as the Assistant MYP Coordinator, and coordinates meetings and training sessions for her colleagues.

With a background in Information Technology and 12 years of experience in education, she is a result-driven and detail-oriented professional. She has also been Head of Department for 5 years prior to joining WAT to teach MYP ICT. Enida has kept her skills up to date through the latest certificates and courses both in teaching and ICT.
